AMY SEXTON M.Ed. BCBA

Amy is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst with over 20 years of working experience. She gained a B.S. in Speech Pathology at Stephen F. Austin State University in 1998. She then redirected her focus to behavioral studies in Special Education at the University of North Texas. There, she received her Master’s in Education in 2002 and received her BCBA in 2004.

Amy started out teaching in public school as a Communications classroom teacher. During summer breaks, Amy resumed in-home therapy, working with families she had peviously work for while earning her master’s. Seeing that she was able to make a bigger impact when working in the home, Amy changed her focus to earning her BCBA and to work exclusively in-home and in authentic environments. Later, she began work as a private ABA consultant for families facing challenges in educating their children with autism/PDD/spectrum disorder. Currently, she teaches parents and professionals how learned behavior works and how teachers and parents can teach more effectively.

Amy is blessed to have the opportunity to work with amazing families and experience bright outcomes. The rest of her time is spent with her fun-loving family of five. They enjoy living in the small community of Highland Village, spending time with their neighbors and friends.
